Canadian Air Transport Security Authority

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) is a Crown corporation dedicated to securing critical elements of the air transport system, namely passenger pre-board screening, hold-baggage screening, and non-passenger screening. Established in 2002, in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, CATSA's mission is to protect the public by securing critical elements of the air transport system as assigned by the government of Canada. The main office is located in Ottawa, Ontario, with operations conducted at airports across the country.
